CEA and Air Protection

The Croatian Environment Agency performs collecting and integrating data on air quality, data processing, environmental monitoring and reporting on air quality. For this purpose, CEA runs/ maintains and coordinates the unified Air Quality Information System, which is an integral part of the Environmental Information System (EIS). Furthermore, according to the Environmental Protection Act, the Agency is the designated as the Reporting Agency to the European Commission, so that the Department submits data regarding thematic areas to the EEA / CDR (Central Data Repository).

The Air Quality Information System is consisted of the following databases:

• Air Quality Database - Local Network
• Air Quality Database - National Network

• Stationary Air Pollution Source Database

• Volatile Organic Compounds Emission Database

• Paints, Varnishes and Vehicle Refinishing Products Database

• Database on Product Quality and Equipment at Terminals and Petrol Stations

• Legal Entities conducting Air Quality and Emission Monitoring Database

• Ozone-Depleting Substances Database
• Greenhouse Gases Registry
• National Inventory Report

 

Other obligations pursuant to the Law include making of the following reports:


• Annual Report on Air Quality Monitoring in the Republic of Croatia

Pollutant Emissions from Stationary Sources in the Republic of Croatia

• Republic of Croatia Informative Inventory Report to LRTAP Convention
• development of the National List of Indicators and establishment of the CEA reference centers.

The Croatian Environment Agency ensures that all available data on concentrations of air pollutants are available to the general public, associations for environmental protection and consumer protection, institutions that represent the interests of healthcare’s sensitive population, and also to the health care organizations.
